They are still at it, but it is getting worse. Two days ago, Israel bombed the Jabaliya refugee camp. They had intelligence that said a top Hamas commander and 50 of his men where in the tunnels there. In less than an hour, news agencies were quoting a doctor at the Indonesian hospital who said 400 people were killed. You would think that news agencies would wait at least a few hours to verify the news's accuracy. Nah. I mean, who would think a doctor has any reason to lie? Eventually, the number then went down to a few dozen. That is what Israel said was the number of Hamas fighters they killed, but the reporting of the blast didn't change. It was called devastating, seemingly indiscriminate. When will this stop?
Did anyone notice that the images of the 81 most severely injured people in Gaza who were taken to Egypt didn't look that bad (look at the photos)? There is a boy with a giant, loose-fitting bandage on his head; he is sitting up on his father's lap, and the bandage is completely clean, no blood, etc.
I have also seen pictures of children being pulled out of rubble full of dust. You know what I didn't see? Blood. I am not talking about gushing blood; I am talking about a scratch, a breaking of the skin.
I must admit that I have never been in a collapsed building, but I would think that if a building fell on me and I was covered with concrete, I would at least have a scratch.
I am not trying to be callous or uncaring. I just do not believe any news or numbers coming from Gaza. I do not doubt that many women and children have died. Yet every news agency seems to take all the information they are getting from Gaza as fact. Don't they realize that it is in Hamas's interest to inflate the numbers? They do this in two ways. First by putting civilians in harm's way, using them as human shields, and causing their deaths.
They also inflate the numbers by lying about the numbers.
Are these newscasters so blind that not one of them asks how many terrorists were killed? Do they think the answer is 0? If not, stop quoting numbers and implying that the total amount given by Hamas consists of innocent civilians.
President Biden said that the USA does not trust the numbers coming out of Gaza. Many intelligence services have said the same. For about a week, news services said the "Hamas-controlled health agency" was providing the numbers. They needed to do that after falling for the Palestinian health agency's lie about the hospital bombing. They were using those words to try to seem fair, but they were not happy about it. So now they are saying "UN health officials" are providing the numbers. That must mean they are true. What is so hard to understand that every aid worker, hospital employee, person in the street has to say what Hamas wants? Why is it not obvious that Hamas would not have a problem killing someone who did not tow the line? You would think that news agencies, who cannot even have reporters in Gaza (only local affiliates and Al Jazeera) would wonder why that is. Why are they so quick to accept the word of a homicidal terrorist organization and the aid workers whose patients' lives depend on the homicidal maniacs.
Yesterday, one of the top leaders of Hamas gave an interview saying that this was just the first Oct 7th, there will be many more until all the Jews are thrown out or killed and all of Palestine liberated. Also yesterday, the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, called for a ceasefire, the freeing of hostages, and "for political negotiations for a two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine."
I saw the first story one time on the news. I keep seeing the second story over and over. It now seems that Hamas wants peace but Israel is rejecting it. No one mentioned that Hamas was formed in response to the signing of the Oslo accords which they vehemently opposed. Besides the goal of killing all the Jews in the world, their charter says, "initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement…There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals, and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility."
BBC, SKY, CNN, MSNBC, FRANCE 24, CBS, etc. Do you know what that means? If not, let me translate. There will be no negotiating with the Jews; we will just kill them all.
You can quote me on that.
On October 17th, which was 17 days ago, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine, known as UNRWA, announced to the world that Gazan Hospitals have fuel for another 24 hours. Daily, I am bombarded with images from these hospitals, and yesterday I noticed something strange; the lights were still on. Not emergency lights. It seemed like all the lights. I have not seen one interview, in any hospital, that was in the dark. The gas that was meant for one day has lasted 17. A Hanukkah miracle in Gaza.
Thank you, Aaron, for your continued sober assessment of the war necessitated by Hamas. We seem to live in an Alice-in-Wonderland world where words have no meaning and people suffer from selective amnesia. May Israel survive the propaganda war and achieve a swift and complete military victory with minimal casualties. Stay safe and resolute. Shabbat shalom.
