We have 4,000 years of history - they have 60 years of lies . It is very sad that we need to deal with this right now. In the end the Muslims will go the ay of the Greeks and the Romans nd be a rounding error in Hashem's Plan. It is painful to live through this but this is the reason we are here and remember our history in Egypt, under Roman, Greek Persecution, Persia , Spain the Ottomans and Germans and many other in between. It's our turn now to be uncomfortable in order that our great grandchildren have Shabbat Dinners. It's Never Fair.
This is right on target. History is written by the loudest not the truest? We are engaged, as always, in an existential war in which the whole world is against us. The Christians are only on our side until a new messiah appears. We are on our own as usual.
What you say is accurate but it does not go far enough. For most of us, our world view is shaped while we are young. For the older generation this meant seeing the results of the Holocaust, seeing a struggling Israel fight against odds for its survival, saw first hand antisemitism in America with elite Universities and other institutions limiting Jews. We saw an Israel led by a David ben Gurion and a Golda Meir. In short we grew up where Jews and Israel were both oppressed and admired. The youth today are growing up in an entirely different world Jews are successful in every field from law to medicine to science. Israel is one of 7 nations who are nuclear armed, and the IDF is considered the 3rd of 4th strongest military on Earth. They see the Israelis having one of the highest standards of living in the world and the Palestinians in near poverty with very limited prospects due to Israeli restrictions. In short, they see Israel and Jews as oppressors and the Palestinians as the oppressed. Unfortunately Netanyahu's policies have reinforced this view, from supporting the settler movement to total war against the Palestinians. Can this narrative be change? Certainly not by the current Israeli leadership.
Very articulate, we have been fighting for our right to exist constantly, and currently are losing this battle. Maybe this is an impossible challenge and we can never achieve recognition, sad but the tragic current reality
